Comments

Meeting discussion items may be found by reviewing the slide presentations of Ted Spalding, Philippe Theys and Dave Camden plus the project description.

It was unanimously agreed that the industry was in need of the objectives outlined in the project proposal. What will need to be determined is the value of these objectives to the participants. In other words, do these objectives warrant an investment of resources to achieve, and if so, how much time and/or money are they worth?

Issue

Will meta data be handled as part of the project? For example, is there intent to include things such as processing parameter information, well log header information, acquisition information, etc. This issue will be addressed by the PSG (Project Steering Group).

Action Items

By December 1, 1999 people were asked to send e-mail to POSC with:

  1. Intent to participate (or not) in the project
  2. Level of participation: 1) only in-kind; 2) combination of in-kind and cash; or 3) cash only
  3. Ability to serve on the PSG

Contingent upon sufficient interest in sponsoring the project, we will hold the first PSG meeting during the week of December 6.
